The Annoying Problem
We’ve all been there — your table shakes every time you set down a cup. But before you throw it out or call a handyman, try this free, instant fix.
The Solution: Use a Coaster (Yes, Really!)
- Identify the short leg: Rock the table to find which corner is unstable.
- Fold a thick coaster (or a few layers of cardboard) into a small square.
- Slide it under the short leg — test until the wobble stops.
Why It Works:
- Most wobbles happen because of uneven floors, not the table itself.
- A 1-2mm thickness adjustment is often enough.
Bonus Tricks for Different Surfaces
- Carpet: Use a playing card (it’s thinner).
- Outdoor tables: Try a flat stone or folded paper napkin (weatherproof!).
- For heavy tables: Stack 2-3 beer mats (they’re sturdy).
What NOT to Do
❌ Don’t use paper — it compresses too easily.
❌ Avoid propping up two legs (makes it worse).
❌ Never ignore it — wobbles strain table joints over time.
