DIY Natural Weed Killer Recipe

DIY Natural Weed Killer Recipe

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1 liter (4 cups) of white vinegar (5% acetic acid)

  • 2 tablespoons of dish soap (preferably natural or biodegradable)

  • 1 tablespoon of table salt (optional, for stubborn weeds – use with caution)

🧪 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Pour 1 liter of white vinegar into a large bowl or mixing jug.

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of salt (optional) and stir well until it fully dissolves.

  3. Mix in 2 tablespoons of dish soap. This helps the solution stick to weed leaves.

  4. Transfer the mixture into a clean spray bottle.

🌞 How to Use It:

  • Spray directly onto the leaves of unwanted weeds.

  • Apply on a sunny, dry day, preferably in the morning.

  • Avoid spraying your lawn or garden plants — this solution is non-selective and will kill any plant it touches.

  • You’ll usually see wilting within a few hours, and weeds often turn brown by the next day.

⚠️ Warnings & Tips:

  • Don’t use near vegetable beds or flowers.

  • Salt can sterilize soil, so only use it on cracks in pavement or areas where nothing should grow.

  • Store the solution safely — away from children and pets.

  • Reapply after heavy rain if needed.
